Description
Open Pollination (O.P.) seeds from Hosta Parasol. A sport from Blue Umbrellas, this one has nice blue foliage that transitions to a somewhat shiny green as the wax melts away over the course of the summer. Was rumored to no longer exist, but it must have been hiding out in the collections of some long-time hostaphiles; mine came from Rosie McCreedy of Rosie’s Gardens!
Parasol is considered to be large, and shows some puckering and cupping and billowing in the leaves. Ours is in a highly mixed be, so hopes are of course for a diverse range of pollen making its way onto the flowers! Be sure to leave a review after you’ve germinated them and grown them a bit and let us know what this uncommon hosta’s seeds wound up producing!
